The questions foreign buyers ask first.

What percentage of Spanish property is bought by foreigners?+

It varies sharply by area. In Catalonia in 2024, foreign buyers made 27.1% of purchases in Girona, 16.9% in Tarragona and 14.2% in Barcelona province (Colegio de Registradores). Coastal provinces draw far more cross-border demand than the interior.

Can a foreigner buy property in Spain?+

Yes — there is no nationality restriction. A non-resident needs an NIE (foreigner identification number) and should budget roughly 10–13% on top of the price for taxes and fees. A high local foreign-buyer share usually means notaries and gestores are well used to non-resident purchases.
