What is snagging on a new-build in Spain?

Snagging is the pre-completion inspection of a new-build to list defects (the repaso) before you accept the keys — and Spanish law backs you with statutory warranties of 1 year for finishes, 3 years for habitability and 10 years for structural defects (LOE).

Inspect (or have a professional inspect) the property before signing, and record any defects so the developer fixes them.

The 10-year structural cover is one reason new-builds carry less hidden-defect risk than older resale homes.
