What taxes do I pay on a resale home in Catalonia?

On a resale (second-hand) home in Catalonia you pay ITP — the transfer tax — which is progressive from 10% to 13% by price band, plus regulated notary and Land Registry fees.

The Catalan ITP is 10% up to €600,000, then 11%, 12% and 13% on the portions above €600k, €900k and €1.5M. Most homes sit at the 10% base rate.

ITP only applies to resale homes — a brand-new home from a developer is taxed with IVA plus AJD instead.
